On 24 October 2025, Exxaro hosted its annual Leadership Safety Day campaign across all business units under the theme #NotInMyName: Khetha Ukuphepha – a call to action that reinforces the company’s unwavering commitment to a zero-harm culture. The Pioneers proudly participated in the campaign, demonstrating their continued dedication to living Exxaro’s value of Khetha Ukuphepha – choosing safety above all else. The session served as an important platform for leaders and employees to reflect, share insights, and discuss lessons learned from daily operations.
Through open dialogue and shared experiences, participants identified practical actions to further strengthen Exxaro’s safety culture – ensuring that every employee takes personal accountability for their safety, the afety of others, and the sustainability of operations across all business units. The Pioneers’ active involvement exemplifies Exxaro’s belief that leadership in safety starts with each individual – saying ™Not in My Name∫ to unsafe acts and committing to continuous improvement in creating a safe and resilient workplace for all.
Joined by the Executive Head: Sustainability, Mongezi Veti, the session included a detailed review of Belfast’s safety statistics and a reminder of the importance of maintaining vigilance as we enter the critical season – a period often associated with heightened operational challenges. Following his address, teams dispersed to various areas to conduct Visible Felt Leadership (VFL) engagements, reinforcing leadership presence in the field. The day concluded with a feedback session, where teams reflected on the shared safety message and reaffirmed their commitment to Zero Harm.
