One of the ethos that we have at Belfast Coal is to build and support sustainable partnerships within our host communities and with organisations that offer services to disadvantaged sections of society.
Demonstrating the Pioneering and collective spirit of our employees, Pioneers have once again joined hands to give to a worthy cause. The Epilepsy Centre Dullstroom was selected to be the beneficiary of clothes and blankets that were generously donated by our Pioneers. In addition to these essential items, a brand new washing machine has been added to this year’s donations list, further supporting lasting hygiene at the centre.
This initiative was led by the People Living with Disabilities (PLWD) committee and the Women in Mining (WIM) committee, in partnership with the Social Impact department. This is in line with Exxaro’s strategic imperative of running a business that is impactful and is a catalyst for stewardship and positive change.
This donation is a follow-up to this year’s Mandela Day visit to the centre, demonstrating clearly how a sustained partnership meets critical needs, as earlier this year, Pioneers contributed hygiene essentials, adding to the list of grocery items from the BU’s donations’ budget.
The fundraising campaign is a living example of the power of inter-departmental collaborative efforts, a core Belfast Coal Pioneering behaviour. Additionally, the success of Become a friend of Epilepsy Dullstroom is a result of commitment to social responsibility, dedication to harnessing harmonious and strategic alliances with civil society organisations and government.
Thank you, Pioneers, for answering the call-to-action. Your contributions are making a positive impact on the lives of others.
