The quest for health did not stop with the Wellness Day; Pioneers also commemorated Mental Health Awareness Month in October by bringing colour, creativity, and most importantly, compassion to the workplace. They did this through Exxaro’s Hats Off to Mental Health campaign.
This initiative reminded everyone that it’s okay not to be okay in a light-hearted and fun way, emphasising and reminding Pioneers that support is always within reach.
The Pioneering and caring spirit of Belfast Coal was evident in the excitement of everyone who participated. The bold designs of the hard hats, their vibrant colours, imaginative artwork and variations, the hats carried personal messages of support to encourage colleagues who may be struggling with their mental health. Pioneers showed empathy, and care is a key component in the workforce.
More than just a wellness initiative, the event served as a reminder that self-care and workplace health go hand in hand. It created a space for Pioneers to recharge, reconnect, and refocus – reinforcing that when we take care of ourselves, we’re better equipped to take care of each other and perform at ourbest.
