Imemeza School in Emakhazeni has proudly hosted a vibrant stationery and motivation event in partnership with Exxaro, aimed at empowering learners and reinforcing the value of education. The event brought together learners, educators, and community leaders, including Executive Mayor Nomhle Mashele, Ward 7 Councillor Solly Ndimande, and the school’s Principal, Charlotte Maunye, in a celebration of learning and personal growth.
As part of the initiative, stationery, snack packs, and career guidance booklets were distributed to learners, ensuring they are better equipped for their academic journey and future planning. The highlight of the day
was a motivational address by Tshepo Khanye, a Peer Influencer and People and Performance Officer, who shared his inspiring personal
story. Living with a disability, Khanye spoke candidly about the importance of making career choices based on one’s strengths and
passions rather than societal expectations. He encouraged learners to believe in themselves, resist peer pressure, and embrace their individuality.
Principal Charlotte Maunye expressed heartfelt gratitude for Exxaro’s continued support, emphasising the positive impact such initiatives have on learners’ morale and academic performance. She also urged learners to remain focused on their studies and to make the most of the opportunities presented to them.
The event has not only provided practical support but also emotional encouragement, reminding learners that their dreams are valid and achievable. It stands as a testament to the power of community collaboration in shaping the future of education.
